- Big John McCarthy Tackles Dana White
Big John McCarthy is one of MMA's most loved referees and iconic within the sport itself. An all around good dude he travels around the country speaking at schools about anti-bullying campaigns and encourages kids to find positive outlets in life like sports or hobbies. A BJJ blackbelt himself, the guy knows everything about combat sports and has a good sense of direction in life. Big John has been calling out how the industry treats fighters for some time now and especially critical of Dana White as recently stating on the Weighing In podcast - "Dana needs to bow down to Vince because he stole everything from Vince. He stole his persona, he stole exactly how he runs his company, all of that." In the context of Dana saying he couldn't have scripted a better UFC fight than McMahan's WWE for an upcoming bout. I think this is where all of Johns concern boils down. The treatment of fighters and where Dana stands as the face of the worlds largest MMA promotion. If the UFC fighters were treated better in terms of compensation, insurance, etc. I don't think McCarthy would be as critical as he is of Dana White. McCarthy Recently retweeted some stats on fighter pay and it's not so good compared to other sports. UFC fighters make about 16% of revenue from their promotion where as MLB Baseball players make 54%, NBA basketball players make 50%, NFL players make 46%, Bellator fighters make 44%. Why does the largest human gladiator proportion of sports promoter, pay their fighters the least % of revenue? I agree with John McCarthy's criticism on Dana White. Hell, I even agree with Jake Paul on something. Dana White may not own the UFC anymore and have the hand to change the company he founded. If he doesn't do something soon though, I think the rest of the world may soon realize we can stream better fights with company's Like Bellator or Fight.TV!

- Ancient History Of Boxing
Boxing is a sport that today exists in all cultures and corners of the world. You might be surprised to know that's not just today but boxing has been recorded in many cultures even before the age of information and traveling / trade routes. Boxing has been documented in the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Sumerian, Chines, and so on. It turns out that punching each other in the face is pretty universal. Humans have been doing it since before civilization so. One can assume boxing might even pre date humanity. A sport with rules and such is likely still unique to us though. It's interesting the little niche differences between various cultures ancient boxing. The ancient Greeks boxed in sandy pits with hide gloves to cover their hands but no padding and also fought naked. The Romans inserted metal into their boxing gloves, to maximize devastation from heavy blows. Roman Boxing often ended with the loser dying and was much more brutal than the sport we know today. Ancient Egyptians would box for the Pharaohs entertainment. They wore no gloves and would fight until the other boxer got knocked out. The ancient Minoans would fight with helmets and gloves, their boxing more of a point system. So fight fans, which style of boxing would you like to have competed in the most?

Fight fans saw her abruptly leave the arena, which isn't uncommon for a fighter after a big upset loss. It's a permanent mark on your record and all over the internet in seconds for billions of people top see and gossip on. Paige had some words regarding this on her video blog - āPeople like me struggle a lot, everybody does. Mental health is no joke and I need to start taking my mental health more seriously. Losses suck and going through hard times itās not fun but it does get better and you can get through it and life goes on.ā āWhen I walked out of the ring, I didnāt just walk to my locker room, I literally walked all the way outside and I just went and cried in the parking lot by myself. I said some things to my husband that are pretty terrible about like my mental state. I told him I didnāt want to live anymore, that this wasnāt for me anymore. Like life wasnāt for me anymore so I was disappointed, It was hard." āEveryone expects me to lose and everyone expects me to fail. I donāt know, I just feel like people have this specific perception of who I am and especially online. Itās crazy how much people can hate on a single person. I just donāt get it. I pride myself of being a good person. I think thatās the most important thing for me. I never talk bad about my opponents. I never say a single negative thing about their character. You never know what somebodyās going through. You never know what someoneās on the verge of.ā We agree with you Paige. You truly never know what someone is going through. People are going to talk crap about you. The more you're known in this world, the more it will happen. We just gotta remember to focus on the fight outside of the ring just as much as the ones inside.
- The Longest Boxing Match In History
The average boxing match lasts about 17 minutes of total fight time. Some go for much longer and some are way quicker but 17 minutes of fighting is enough to gas out the best athletes. It's enough to run right into the dirt for any cardio finessed fighter. There is one boxing match from history that puts 17 minutes to shame. Try over 7 hours. Andy Bowen and Jack Burke fought the longest recorded gloved boxing match in history. April 6th, 1893 at Olympic Club in New Orleans Louisiana is where this went down. The fight lasted 110 rounds, it went from 9pm until 7 hour later the next day early in the morning. Burke won the first 25 rounds but Bowen refused to go down. By midnight most of the fight fans had left the building, the ones who stayed were falling asleep. By the 110th round, they weren't even swinging at each other anymore and the ref called the fight a split contest. Both fighters got to split the purse and looked like a bloody mess afterwards. These two will forever go down as some of the biggest baddest dudes in history. Do you think they would have kept that same energy against todays most elite fighters? We can wonder what would happen if there were no limits on fight times today. How long might Pacquiao and Mayweather have gone at it?
- Don't Try To Steal Cars From UFC Fighters
Ever thought about stealing a car? That's not smart. Ever thought about stealing a car that belongs to a professional fighter? That's probably the least smart thing you could ever do. Well it so turns out, people as smart as this actually exist! Turns out just yes. Someone tried to steal Jordan Williams, a UFC Welterweight fighters car yesterday. You can go see the video from the incident on his Instagram account - bomayemma Where this wanna be car thief lurks outside the store watching Jordan go inside. He then rushes inside the car and tries to leave, but doesn't get very far before he's yanked from the vehicle. To then run off with his tail between his legs Believe it or not, this isn't the first case of a UFC fighter having someone trying to Grand Theft Auto them. Derrick Lewis was also almost a car thief victim. What almost was a video game like car robbery turned into an MMA fight in Derrick Lewis's thief's case. The guy was rag doll ripped right out of the car (he didn't know how to drive stick) and was rightfully knocked the **** out. You can watch a video of Derrick giving one of his famous post fight interviews after the attempted car theft. He's a little more serious than he is in his usual post fight interviews, but it's a great one to watch none the less. What do you think of these car thieves? How dumb can you be to try to steal a car, let alone a car owned by Derrick Lewis. Don't go around stealing cars. Especially nice ones, it might belong to Mike Tyson Or Floyd Mayweather.

Manny Pacquiao was sapposed to be fighting Errol Spence JR, but due to a pre fight injury had to be cancelled and now Pacman will be fighting Yordenis Ugas at the T Mobile arena in Las Vegas on August 21st. This will be a championship title bout although Manny has been quoted as saying he doesn't care who the champion is, if he wins or not, that Hhe's just excited to have this fight. I like Spence, I respect Spence. I know he is always ready for any challenge. I just think ⦠I just have some suspicions about this whole thing. I just think the way it manifested and came out suddenly and so fast ⦠Iāll just say stay tuned." "If you hear something other than what everyone was given and what was told. I think there is more to the story than what it is. But if it is true, I wish him a speedy recovery. But I just have to say that first because I want to be the first one that people say, āwhat did I know that everybody else didnāt first knowā or āwhat did I know that a few people did know but nobody was bold enough or brave enough to say it." "Again, if itās the case then I think we all should see it. It can be an eye issue. It can be business. It could be lack of. The whole thing ⦠itās been told and most people probably will believe it. Most people wonāt dare to question it or ask for more details. Iām the type of person, Iāll show the X-ray to the world. - Cormier VS Mcgregor Twitter Fued
Conor as graceful and humble as he is, had some kind words for Daniel on twitter yesterday. If you know anything about Conor, you know that last sentence was sarcastic. Cormier and Mcgregor have been exchanging words for some time now as Mcgregor recently tweeted out against Khabib's late father. Courmier had this to say - āSo McGregor, listen to me bud. Stop worrying about me. Donāt worry about Daniel Cormier. Donāt worry about the things that Iām saying. Donāt worry about how Iām dressing and how Iām looking. Donāt do that. Worry about the dudes that keep beating your ass every time you go into the octagon.ā āIām not the guy youāve got to worry about fighting, Iām done. Iām retired. Iām living my best life. You need to worry about trying to beat the guys that you fight against. Get off the internet. I donāt hate this dude, but McGregor, fall back.ā Courmier went on to explain the Mcgregor acting out like this is a cry for help. With emphasis he meant that sincerely. He acknowledged Mcgregors abilities as an athlete but mentions concerns for his health and those he surrounds himself with. So maybe this will be the last of the twitter spats between the two, or it's just the beginnign. What do you think?
