Former UFC strawweight title challenger Yan Xiaonan is set to face a tough test in her bid for another shot at the championship. The Chinese contender will meet Brazil’s Virna Jandiroba in a pivotal strawweight clash at UFC 314 on April 12 in Miami. Yan (19-4) previously fought for the UFC strawweight title at UFC 300, where she came up short against reigning champion Zhang Weili in a unanimous decision loss. However, she rebounded later in the year with a solid decision victory over Tabatha Ricci in November, proving she remains a top contender in the division.
Meanwhile, Jandiroba (21-3) has been steadily climbing the ranks and is riding a four-fight winning streak. The Brazilian submission specialist has secured notable victories over Angela Hill, Marina Rodriguez, and Lupita Godinez. In her most recent fight, Jandiroba submitted Amanda Lemos in July, marking her first UFC main event win and further cementing her case for a title shot.
