The highly anticipated clash between The Rock and Roman Reigns is still on the horizon for 2024, despite Cody Rhodes' recent victory in the men's Royal Rumble and his expressed desire to challenge Reigns at WrestleMania. WWE reportedly maintains plans for The Rock and Reigns to headline a singles match later this year, although specific details regarding the timing and venue remain unclear.
During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the situation, with Meltzer confirming,
"It is going to be Cody and Roman Reigns in a singles match. A Dwayne and Roman Reigns match, whenever it is, is still happening. I just don't know where."
While there were rumors that the much-anticipated match could take place at next month's Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, it has been clarified that Reigns is not scheduled to compete at the event.
Adding to the intrigue, The Rock recently appeared on ESPN's First Take, where he discussed the prospect of headlining WrestleMania with Reigns. Expressing his enthusiasm for the potential matchup, The Rock emphasized the historic significance of such an event.
"Look, you guys know, I feel like you know me - I'm a long-gamer. I like to build," The Rock commented.
"And what this is, if myself and Roman Reigns were to main event WrestleMania, and I mean this very respectfully of all the WrestleManias prior because I grew up in this business and I love it, we could possibly put on - with us as the main event and this incredible group of men and women who are these incredible performers - we could possibly put on the greatest and the biggest WrestleMania of all time."
