The official weigh-ins for UFC Saudi Arabia took place early Friday, confirming that all major fights, including the anticipated main event between Israel Adesanya and Nassourdine Imavov, are set. Adesanya, a former two-time UFC middleweight champion, successfully made weight at 185 pounds, marking his first non-title fight in six years. His opponent, Imavov, also hit the 185-pound mark, with neither fighter utilizing the one-pound allowance typically permitted for non-title bouts.
This matchup is crucial for both competitors. Adesanya, ranked No. 2 in the UFC Middleweight Rankings, aims to recover from a 1-3 slump, while Imavov, ranked No. 5, looks to extend his winning streak to four.
In the co-main event, both Shara Magomedov (185 pounds) and Michael Page (185.5 pounds) made weight, ensuring their highly anticipated bout proceeds without issue. The card also features a heavyweight showdown between Sergei Pavlovich (249 pounds) and Jairzinho Rozenstruik (252 pounds), along with a bantamweight contest between Said Nurmagomedov (135.5 pounds) and Vinicius Oliveira (135 pounds).
While most fighters made weight successfully, one competitor faltered. Lucas Alexander, scheduled for a preliminary featherweight bout against Bogdan Grad, came in at 148.5 pounds, exceeding the limit by 2.5 pounds. This marks the second consecutive time Alexander has missed weight, having also failed to make the cut for his fight against Jeka Saragih in November 2023. As a result, his bout will proceed as a catchweight contest, and he will forfeit 30 percent of his purse as a penalty.
With the weigh-ins now complete, UFC Saudi Arabia is officially set to take place at ANB Arena in Riyadh.
