The long wait was almost three years before the UFC arrived in London earlier this year, but this year's UFC London was welcomed by UK MMA fans in such a way that only Four months later the promotion was rewarded with another blockbuster card for his outstanding support.
The world's largest mixed martial arts organization announced that it will return to The O2 on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
London has always been home to historic UFC events, and earlier this year, it hosted one of the most memorable fight nights in UFC history. The headline was VOLKOV vs. ASPINALL, the highest-grossing Fight Night in UFC history, and the only highest-grossing sporting event ever at The O2. Fans were treated to nine stoppage performances that night, six of which came from local British athletes.
England's UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall has a lifetime performance. He faced Alexander Volkov, defeated him by submission, continued his unbeaten record at the UFC and received his fourth performance bonus of the night.
Blaydes vs Aspinall Preview
The Blaydes (16-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC) vs. Aspinall (12-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) will headline the UFC Fight Night in London on July 23. Curtis Blaydes will try to derail Tom Aspinall's car in the heavyweight rankings.
The Blaydes are performing at their best in the Octagon era, with the record holder for the most takeoffs in divisional history intercepting Chris Daukaus via TKO on ESPN 33 without a UFC. Take the fight to the ground. The 31-year-old has won a total of six of his last seven matches, his only point being a knockout defeat against Derrick Lewis in February 2021.
"Razor" will try to send the British fans home in a rage when he goes to the back of the No. 7 Aspinall’s backyard. The Aspinall will receive his second consecutive headliner in London after submitting Alexander Volkov in the first round of the UFC Fight Night 204 in March. The 31-year-old has completed all 12 wins of his career to date, including five in a row to start his UFC career.
