Beneil Dariush, the lightweight contender who had an eight-fight win streak snapped by Charles Oliveira this past summer, is ready to bounce back and face Arman Tsarukyan at UFC Austin. The fight was confirmed by Dariush himself on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, where he said he was looking forward to taking on the rising star from Armenia.
The bout will take place on December 2, as part of one of the last events of the year. It will be a clash between two of the most talented and exciting fighters in the 155-pound division, both with impressive records and skills.
Dariush, who is ranked No. 4 in the division, has a record of 22-5, with 14 wins by finish. He was on a tear before he ran into Oliveira, who stopped him with punches in the first round of their fight in August. Dariush is known for his grappling prowess and his striking power, as well as his durability and heart.
Tsarukyan, has a record of 20-3, with 11 wins by finish. He has won four fights in a row since losing a close decision to Islam Makhachev in his UFC debut in 2019. Tsarukyan is a well-rounded fighter who can mix it up on the feet and on the ground, with a high pace and a strong wrestling base.
This fight could have major implications for the lightweight title picture, as the division is currently in flux. This weekend, Alexander Volkanovski will challenge Makhachev for the belt, in a fight that many fans are eagerly anticipating
