Amanda Lemos showcased her grappling prowess at UFC 313, securing a decisive unanimous decision victory over Iasmin Lucindo. While it may not have been a highlight-reel finish, Lemos executed a suffocating ground-heavy game plan that left Lucindo with little room to operate.
From the opening bell, Lemos imposed her will, securing early takedowns and maintaining relentless top pressure. She consistently nullified Lucindo’s attempts to scramble free, keeping her pinned to the mat for extended periods. Even when the fight was in the clinch, Lemos found success, landing sharp elbows and controlling the exchanges.
Lucindo struggled to find an answer to Lemos’ wrestling dominance. Though she managed to score a takedown of her own in the final round—following an impassioned plea from her corner—she couldn’t capitalize. Lemos quickly reversed the position, regaining control and sealing the win.
When the judges’ scorecards were read, all three had it 29-28 in favor of Lemos, a well-earned victory that puts her back on track. With a 2-2 record in her last four outings, she continues to battle for consistency in a highly competitive division.
While the performance wasn’t flashy, Lemos proved that a smart, disciplined approach can be just as effective as a knockout.
