UFC 289: Charles Oliveira DESTROY Beneil Dariush

Islam Makhachev, the UFC lightweight champion, and Charles Oliveira have an unresolved business. Oliveira decisively re-entered the title discussion on Saturday, stopping lightweight contender Beneil Dariush inside one round at UFC 289 in Vancouver.

Oliveira hinted to the fight's conclusion right away. As soon as the battle began, "Do Bronx" kicked Dariush in the head hard. Dariush ate it well and commanded the round by walloping his opponent in the top position.

Oliveira delivered the identical strike to his opponent when the fight resumed on his feet. Dariush managed to stop some of it, but the force was too much. Oliveira used hammer fists to knock Dariush nearly out of his senses after wobbling him with a subsequent strike.

In his post-fight remarks, Oliveira emphasised that his subpar performance against Makhachev at UFC 280 was merely a one-off event. He also called for a title rematch.

On Twitter, Makhachev praised Oliveira's performance but cautioned the former champion that "there's levels to this game."

Dariush will find it challenging to accept the defeat. He had a career-high eight-fight winning streak and was in exceptional shape. This Monday, Dariush told the media that UFC president Dana White had guaranteed him a shot at the title if he defeated Oliveira.
