UFC 276: Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski vs. Former Featherweight Champion Holloway

Australian featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will return to action on July 2 to answer questions about his previous victory over Max Holloway.

Volkanovski hopes to consolidate his place in MMA history by completing a clean sweep of his trilogy with the former title holder.

Volkanovski will face Holloway in Las Vegas on July 2, after defeating the United States for the first time in 2019 and winning the featherweight belt in the upset.

The pair's second fight in 2020 proved controversial, with MMA fighters, including Justin Gaethje, Dan Henderson, and Uriah Hall, publicly questioning whether Volkanovski was entitled to his split at the time.

To end the feud, the featherweight champion will once again face Holloway for the third time in defense of his fourth title at the UFC International Fight Week in Las Vegas on Sunday, July 3.

Volkanovski (24-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC) was to face Holloway for the third time in UFC 272 in March, but Holloway withdrew due to injury. Instead, Volkanovski faced Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273 a month later, who defeated "The Korean Zombie" to win the fourth round stoppage.

Meanwhile, former featherweight champion Holloway (23-6 MMA, 19-6 UFC) lost to his second consecutive title fight defeat against Volkanovski in UFC 251 in a back-to-back fight of the night in January 2021 against emerging contender Calvin Katar. Returned with a win, and most recently Yair Rodriguez in the UFC Fight Night 197 headliner last November.

Do you think Australian featherweight champion Volkanovski will be able to prove himself against former featherweight champion Holloway? Will former featherweight champion Holloway be able to transform himself from former to current champion?

Also in non-title action are middleweight contender Sean Strickland against kickboxing star Alex Pereira, bantamweight sensation Sean O'Malley vs. veteran Pedro Munhoz, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler Bryan Barberena, former UFC women's bantamweight champion. Mesha Tate drops in flyweight against recent title challenger Lauren Murphy, and a lighter prospect Jalin Turner vs. City kickboxer Brad Riddle.

The current UFC 276 Fight Card is as follows:
