The UFC's Biggest International Fight Week is scheduled for July 2 at the monthly meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) on Tuesday, the UFC 276 event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 2. The commissioning body overseeing the final has finalized the referees and judges for the two title fights on the deck.
Over the past two weeks, many battles have been formally announced or linked to the event to fill the card with thrills and action. The UFC 276's headline at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is a middleweight title fight.
In it, Israel Adesanya(22-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) will face Jared Cannonier (15-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) to defend its middleweight championship. Not only will the action be over, in the co-main event, UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski (24-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC) kept his title on the line as he made it to Max Holloway (23-6 MMA, 19-6 UFC)
Israel Adesanya vs. Jared Cannonier
Adesanya, 32, has climbed the pound rank for pound, ending four straight title defenses. The fighter known as "Last Style Bender" has not stopped at the middleweight level since his UFC debut in 2018 and has quickly become one of the most popular fighters in the sport. It will be interesting to see how the world-class striker wields the punching power of "Killa Gorilla" as he seeks to further strengthen his medium weight legacy.
Canonier, 38, is facing an impressive main event knockout over middleweight veteran Derek Branson. The "Killa Gorilla" suffered a temporary setback against former division champion Robert Whittaker in 2020, but has held a 5-1 record since falling to 185 pounds almost four years ago. This may be the only opportunity for the Canonier to raise UFC gold, so expect your best performance against Adesanya.
co-main event
In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski will once again face Max Holloway for the featherweight belt. Volkanovski took the lease from Holloway in 2019, won a close rematch in 2020, and now we get the trilogy in the summer of 2022.
