After an extended period of inactivity, Travis Browne has officially parted ways with the UFC. The promotional officials confirmed on Tuesday that Browne’s contract has ended, marking the conclusion of his tenure with the organization. "Hapa," who has not fought since his submission loss to Aleksei Oleinik at UFC 213 in July 2017, did not inform the UFC of his retirement.

Browne's departure ends a significant chapter in his career. Over his UFC run, Browne amassed a record of 9-7-1, with notable victories over prominent fighters such as Brendan Schaub, Josh Barnett, and Alistair Overeem. However, his later career was marked by a series of setbacks, concluding with four consecutive losses, including TKO defeats to Derrick Lewis and Cain Velasquez.

The 26-fight veteran began his UFC journey in June 2010 and quickly made a name for himself by remaining unbeaten in his first five fights. His most successful year came in 2013, when he secured three first-round finishes, solidifying his reputation as a formidable heavyweight contender.

Despite his recent struggles, Browne's career highlights include several impressive finishes and memorable performances. As the husband of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, Browne's career has been under the spotlight both inside and outside the octagon.

As of now, Browne has not indicated any plans to return to competition or pursue other opportunities in the sport. His release from the UFC marks the end of an era for the heavyweight fighter, who once stood among the top contenders in his division.

The UFC 213 loss to Oleinik was the last time fans saw Browne in action, capping off a career that saw both high points and significant challenges. With his contract now completed, the focus shifts to Browne’s future endeavors, whether they remain within the realm of combat sports or beyond.
