On Friday, GFL took to X to share the exciting news:
“GFL Fans. You asked, we listened! Our most requested bout is now official as Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson squares off with Dillon ‘El Jefe’ Danis in a legendary Lightweight matchup. Who you got?”

Tony Ferguson (25-11) is a former UFC interim lightweight champion known for his relentless fighting style. However, he’s currently on an eight-fight losing streak, having suffered defeats against top-tier opponents like Michael Chiesa, Paddy Pimblett, and Nate Diaz. Despite the skid, Ferguson remains one of the most dangerous fighters in the division, with past victories over Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos, and Kevin Lee. This fight is a chance for him to redeem himself in a new promotion.
Dillon Danis (2-0) made his mark in Bellator as a submission specialist, securing two first-round finishes. However, he hasn’t fought in MMA since 2019, instead making headlines in the boxing world.
