Tatiana Suarez, a top strawweight contender, has been forced to delay her return to the Octagon yet again. Scheduled to face Virna Jandiroba at UFC 310 on December 7 in Las Vegas, Suarez is now out of the about due to a health issue, according to sources. The highly anticipated fight was expected to be a No. 1 contender’s match in the 115-pound division.

Suarez’s battle with health problems is not new. Widely regarded as a future champion, her journey has been marked by continuous setbacks. After securing a dominant win over Nina Nunes in 2019, Suarez was on the brink of a title shot. However, a series of injuries kept her sidelined for over three years, putting her career on hold just when it seemed she was on the rise.

Despite the challenges, Suarez made a triumphant return earlier this year, stepping back into the Octagon in dramatic fashion. She secured a submission win over Montana De La Rosa at flyweight. She followed it up with an emphatic victory over former UFC champion Jessica Andrade, earning her a Performance of the Night bonus in August 2023. Her comeback had reignited excitement in the division, with many seeing her as the next big threat at strawweight.

Now, with her latest setback, fans and analysts alike will have to wait until 2025 to see if Suarez can continue her pursuit of UFC gold. It’s a familiar story for Suarez, but one that has made her all the more resilient.

As her road to the title takes yet another detour, the UFC strawweight division will have to wait a little longer to see one of its brightest stars return.
