The bout between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis is becoming more certain by the hour, with Showtime and PBC announcing yesterday evening that it will take place in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 22.
A pair of back-to-back press conferences, one in New York tomorrow at 12:30 PM Eastern and the other in Los Angeles on Thursday at 1:00, were also revealed in the press release.
All that is really left to say at this time is the cost of the PPV and the undercard.
This marks Davis’ (28-0, 26 KO) fourth fight in Vegas and second at T-Mobile Arena, where he controversially beat Francisco Fonseca in 2017 after losing his IBF super featherweight title on the scale.
Garcia (23-0, 19 KO) is likewise 3-0 in “Sin City,” beating Tyrone Luckey at T-Mobile in 2017. Garcia hasn't competed since July 2022, when he defeated Javier Fortuna by knockout. He has a 23-0 career record, with 19 knockdown victories.
Davis has a flawless 28-0 record and one of the most violent knockout records in boxing. Despite being only 5-foot-5, he has achieved success in the super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight divisions. Garcia will have a five-inch height edge and a three-inch reach advantage over Garcia.
