Stamp Fairtex is finally making her long-awaited return, and she’s coming back with championship gold in her sights. The reigning ONE atom weight queen is set to unify the division’s titles against interim champion Denice Zamboanga at ONE 173, taking place on August 1 at Ball Arena in Denver.
Stamp, one of the brightest stars under the ONE Championship banner, has been sidelined since suffering a severe knee injury in 2024. The injury, which occurred in sparring ahead of a scheduled fight against Zamboanga in June, was devastating.
“Eighty percent of her meniscus was torn off her knee,” ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed, describing how a takedown gone wrong forced the Thai sensation into surgery.
The setback also crushed her ambitions of becoming a two-division champion, as she had hoped to challenge ONE strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan later that year. However, after months of recovery, Stamp is now fully healed and ready to reclaim her spot at the top.
For Stamp, this fight isn’t just about unification—it’s also about making a statement on U.S. soil once again.
“I’m so happy to be competing in the U.S. again,” she shared enthusiastically. “I was supposed to face Denice last year, but unfortunately, I got injured. Now, we finally get to fight for the belt. I was blown away by the support I received from all of my U.S. fans at ONE Fight Night 10, and I can’t wait to put on a show for them again this August at ONE 173.”
While Stamp was recovering, Denice Zamboanga kept busy and cemented her claim to the interim title. She secured a win over Noelle Grandjean in June before dominating Alyona Rassohyna in January with a ground-and-pound stoppage to claim the interim belt. Now, she gets the fight she was originally slated for—only this time, there’s even more at stake.
With the atom weight division set for a defining moment, ONE 173 marks ONE Championship’s third visit to Denver, a city that has embraced the promotion’s brand of high-level martial arts. For Stamp Fairtex, this fight represents redemption and the chance to unify her status as the undisputed queen.
