ONE Championship’s atomweight MMA queen, Stamp Fairtex, recently announced her engagement to long-time partner Anthony Duong, but her upcoming wedding isn't slowing down her ambitions. The 26-year-old fighter, known for her accomplishments across multiple combat sports, made it clear that her focus remains on her MMA career, despite the excitement in her personal life.
In a candid conversation with journalist Nick Atkin during ONE Friday Fights 81 at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, Stamp opened up about her future plans. She revealed that while she is engaged, the wedding won’t happen for several years, ensuring that her fighting career remains her top priority for the time being.
“Thank you. It’s just engagement, but it’s mainly like four or five years [or more]. Because I’m still hungry to fight, and I’m hungry for money,” she humorously stated.
Stamp, who holds the distinction of being ONE’s only three-sport world champion, emphasized that her fiancé fully supports her decision to stay in the cage and pursue further success. This commitment is especially important as she recovers from surgery on a torn meniscus, which derailed her plans to defend her atomweight MMA title against Denice Zamboanga earlier this year.
Despite the injury setback, Stamp remains determined to get back into fighting shape and return to action soon. Her fighting spirit is unshaken, and her sights are still set on cementing her legacy in MMA. With a supportive partner and a few more years before walking down the aisle, Stamp is fully focused on her career, ready to continue achieving greatness in the sport she loves.
