Sebastian Fundora, known as "The Towering Inferno," is gearing up for a fiery showdown against Serhii Bohachuk on March 30 for the vacant WBC super welterweight title. Fundora, with a record of 20-1-1 and 13 knockouts, is eager to bounce back after experiencing the 2023 Knockout of the Year at the hands of Brian Mendoza in a fight he was dominating.
Bohachuk, with a record of 23-1 and 23 knockouts, is also seeking redemption after his only professional loss to Brandon Adams. Both fighters see this bout as a pivotal moment in their careers, with the opportunity for a significant breakthrough.
"This fight means everything to my career," Fundora stated. "This is my first real world title fight. I'm very excited to showcase my talents. I think it's going to be a great, action-packed fight. I think I can beat anybody in the division."
Standing at 6-foot-6, Fundora will have a significant height and reach advantage over the 28-year-old Bohachuk. With former champion Jermell Charlo no longer dominating the division, Fundora sees this as his chance to make a mark before considering a move up to middleweight.
The bout between Fundora and Bohachuk will be featured on the undercard of the Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, available on Amazon pay-per-view. Fundora is backing Tszyu, the WBO super welterweight champion, to defeat Thurman and is eyeing a potential matchup with Tszyu in the future.
