Sage Northcutt books ONE Championship return after nearly four years.

At ONE Fight Night 10, Sage Northcutt will make his eagerly awaited comeback to competition for the first bout in almost four years.

ONE Championship Fight Night 10 will feature a welterweight match between Northcutt and Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba in May. Following an early scoop from Sports Illustrated, promotion authorities revealed the contest on Monday.

Following sustaining eight face fractures in his ONE debut, the American sensation is making his appearance in the circle for the first time. Northcutt backed out of his return in April 2021 because of the COVID-19 aftereffects.

The promotion will mark its American debut at ONE Fight Night 10. The event is taking place on May 5 at the Broomfield, Colorado, 1STBANK Centre. The event will be headlined by the trilogy fight for the flyweight championship between the all-time greatest Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes.

Houston native Northcutt made a big impression when he first joined Legacy FC and was noticed on the pilot episode of "Dana White: Lookin' for a Fight." He was 5-0 when he joined the UFC and won his first two matches through TKO and submission.

After that, he fell off, losing his next two fights by submission to Bryan Barberena and Mickey Gall. But between 2017 and 2018, he engaged in three fights in a row. Even though he had a winning streak and was 6-2 in the UFC, the organization decided to fire him when his contract expired. Northcutt made a prominent move by joining ONE Championship.

On his debut in One Championship Sage Northcutt competed in May 2019 against famed kickboxer Cosmo Alexandre. Northcutt was defeated by Alexandre with a powerful right hook in just under 30 seconds. Although many believed Northcutt's competitive days were over, he will make a comeback after being gone from the sport.

While debuting to compete for ONE in 2016, Mujtaba has gone 4-2 with the organization, including two consecutive first-round victories. Rahul Raju was defeated by him within just 56 seconds about two years ago. Then, this past November, he submitted Abraao Amorim following a protracted absence.
