The boxing world is gearing up for an unprecedented event as three of the sport’s biggest stars—Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez—are set to headline a historic fight night in the heart of New York City. On May 2nd, this blockbuster event, promoted by Turki Alalshikh, will be the first-ever boxing card in Times Square.

Ryan Garcia, who hasn’t stepped into the ring since his controversial bout against Devin Haney last April, is making his much-anticipated return. Though he stunned the world by knocking down Haney three times en route to what initially seemed like a career-defining win, his victory was overturned due to a failed drug test. Now, nearly a year later, ‘KingRy’ is set to face former champion Rolando Romero in what promises to be an electrifying showdown.

The co-main event will see Devin Haney, the former undisputed lightweight king, square off against former champion Jose Ramirez. Meanwhile, Teofimo Lopez, the reigning WBO super lightweight champion, will take on the undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr.

Promoter Turki Alalshikh expressed his excitement about the event in a video posted on social media, promising a night unlike any other.

“The first boxing card ever, the first card for Ring Magazine in America, [will be] in Times Square. We will collaborate with SNK and the video game ‘Fatal Fury,’ it will be something amazing,” Alalshikh stated.

In addition to the star-studded lineup inside the ring, the event will feature a surprise musical performance, adding to the spectacle of the night. Discussions are currently underway with DAZN and other major platforms to secure global broadcasting rights.

“This will be something amazing and a night that has never happened before,” Alalshikh assured fans, further hinting at more exciting announcements in the coming weeks.

With three elite fighters in action and the iconic Times Square as the backdrop, this event is set to redefine boxing’s presence on the global stage. May 2nd will be a night for the history books.
