Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney Could Share the Spotlight Again as Rematch Hype Builds

Turki Alalshikh is reshaping the boxing world with strategic moves. The influential figure recently announced on Twitter that Ryan Garcia has signed a contract for his next fight, which is set to occur in May in the United States. While Garcia’s opponent remains undisclosed, an intriguing twist has emerged—Devin Haney, his previous adversary, is reportedly expected to compete on the same card.

According to Ring Magazine, owned by Alalshikh, this dual appearance isn’t a mere coincidence. If both fighters secure victories in their respective matchups, fans could see a high-stakes rematch between Garcia and Haney in October to kick off the Riyadh Season.

The first encounter between Garcia and Haney in April delivered drama and surprises. Garcia shocked the boxing world by flooring Haney multiple times and winning a decision. However, the celebration was short-lived. The decision was overturned to a No Contest following Garcia’s failed drug test, leading to a one-year suspension.

Despite the setback, Garcia remains in the headlines. Originally scheduled to face Rukiya Anpo in an exhibition bout at RIZIN’s New Year’s Eve event, a wrist injury delayed the fight. “The fight will happen in 2025,” Garcia promised, but his rapidly filling schedule suggests the rematch with Haney could take center stage first.

Both fighters have much at stake. For Garcia, it’s a chance to reclaim credibility and silence critics. For Haney, it’s an opportunity to settle the score.

As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await further announcements. Will May’s card set the stage for an epic rematch? Only time will tell, but the excitement is undeniable.
