Welterweight MMA star Roberto Soldic has made a thunderous statement in ONE Championship, and his next target is none other than two-weight ONE MMA World Champion Christian Lee.
At ONE 171: Qatar on February 20, “Robocop” delivered a jaw-dropping first-round knockout to Dagi Arslanaliev, marking the first KO loss of Arslanaliev’s career. This spectacular victory has reignited Soldic’s championship aspirations, as he now eyes the golden opportunity to challenge for the ONE Welterweight MMA World Title.
Despite a rocky start in ONE Championship—following a no-contest debut and a loss to Zebaztian Kadestam—Soldic has proven his dominance in the cage. His stunning performance in Qatar caught the attention of ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, who has been a strong believer in the Croatian fighter’s potential since signing him in 2022.
“The future is mine,” Soldic stated. “When I step into the cage, I will be a big problem for anyone. And I hope I fight for the title.”
Sityodtong was equally impressed with Soldic’s display of raw power and striking prowess, acknowledging that this level of performance brings him closer to title contention.
“This is what I think fans around the world can now see; his monster one-punch KO power. And I’ve seen a lot of incredible strikers, but that left hand is a bomb,” Sityodtong said.
While Soldic’s knockout victory has put him in the spotlight, Sityodtong believes he needs to secure a few more wins to cement his place in the title picture. A rematch with Kadestam could be on the horizon, as well as other high-profile matchups before a title shot is finalized.
Regardless of the path ahead, one thing is certain—Roberto Soldic is back, and he’s hungrier than ever for ONE Championship gold. Fans can expect explosive performances as he continues his quest for the welterweight throne.
