At just 19 years old, Raul Rosas Jr is already aiming high in his UFC career. The youngest fighter on the UFC roster, Rosas (10-1), believes it's time to push his limits and face tougher competition. After securing a unanimous decision victory over Aori Qileng at UFC 306, Rosas is now on a three-fight win streak and feels ready for the next big step—taking on a ranked bantamweight contender.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Rosas expressed his hunger for a challenge.
"The thing about me is that I like challenges," he said. "I want a challenge. I want to test myself, and now I feel very comfortable being in the cage. I feel comfortable fighting a top-15 opponent."
Despite his youth, Rosas is confident in his abilities but acknowledges that even if he's not fully prepared, he will find a way to rise to the occasion.
"Personally, I know I’m ready. But even if I’m not ready, I’ll figure out a way to be ready for that date and opponent. If I’m ready, which I think I am, I can still get even more ready so I can do more than just win, but actually finish and impress everyone, but more importantly the UFC so they can keep giving me fights toward the belt."
While Rosas is eager for a ranked opponent, he's not fixated on any specific names. His primary focus is on climbing the ladder and eventually securing a title shot.
"Against anyone really – I just care about getting the opportunity," he added. "There’s no one specific right now. All I want is the title. I want the title, so whatever fight takes me closer, that’s the fight I want."
Rosas' ambition and confidence are evident as he looks to prove himself against the top-tier fighters in his division. Whether or not the UFC grants him a ranked opponent next, it's clear that Rosas is determined to fast-track his path to championship contention.
