PFL Unveils Welterweight Contenders for 2025 World Tournament

The PFL has officially revealed the eight fighters set to compete in the 2025 Welterweight World Tournament, where they will battle for a $500,000 prize and the title of PFL champion.

Headlining the tournament bracket are former Bellator champions Jason Jackson, Andrey Koreshkov, and Logan Storley. They are joined by 2024 PFL finalist Magomed Umalatov, PFL Europe champion Florim Zendeli, The Ultimate Fighter 32 competitor Giannis Bachar, seasoned PFL and Bellator veteran Mukhamed Berkhamov, and recent Bellator standout Masayuki Kikuiri.

The tournament will kick off on April 3 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, setting the stage for high-stakes action in the 170-pound division.

Jackson (18-5) aims to reclaim gold after dropping the Bellator welterweight title to Ramazan Kuramagomedov last June. Before that defeat, he was on an impressive eight-fight winning streak, which included a championship-clinching victory over Yaroslav Amosov.

Koreshkov (28-5), another former Bellator titleholder, has won six of his last seven fights. He enters the tournament after a solid victory over Goiti Yamauchi, rebounding from a prior loss to Umalatov.

Storley (16-3), who once held Bellator’s interim welterweight belt, looks to add a PFL championship to his resume. His recent performances have been inconsistent, alternating between wins and losses in his last five fights.

Zendeli (8-1-1), fresh off his first-round submission win over Daniele Miceli, enters the tournament with momentum, having captured the 2024 PFL Europe title and a $100,000 prize. Now, he eyes an even bigger payday.

TUF 32’s Bachar (9-2) may not have made it past the opening round of the show, losing to finalist Robert Valentin, but he remains a rising prospect. Before his TUF stint, Bachar secured an eight-fight win streak, including a lightning-fast 50-second knockout of Omiel Brown to claim the Cage Warriors welterweight championship.

Completing the field are Berkhamov (17-2) and Kikuiri (10-2-1), both of whom competed in PFL and Bellator in 2024. Berkhamov made a statement with a split-decision victory over two-time PFL champion Ray Cooper III, while Kikuiri impressed with back-to-back knockouts inside the Bellator cage.

With a mix of former champions, surging contenders, and hungry prospects, the 2025 PFL Welterweight Tournament promises to deliver an electrifying season.
