PFL Unveils Stacked Middleweight Tournament Featuring Former Champions
Impa Kasanganay

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is bringing the middleweight division back in a big way. After a six-year hiatus, the league has officially announced the lineup for its 2025 185-pound tournament, featuring a mix of past champions, rising contenders, and Bellator veterans.

Leading the pack are two former PFL tournament winners—2023 light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay (18-5) and 2022 welterweight champion Sadibou Sy (17-8-2, 1 NC). Both fighters have already claimed million-dollar prizes in their previous divisions, and now they’re hunting for another championship and a $500,000 grand prize.

Joining them in the highly competitive bracket are Fabian Edwards (13-4), a two-time Bellator title challenger and brother of UFC champion Leon Edwards, along with Josh Silveira (13-4), last year’s PFL light heavyweight finalist. The tournament also features seasoned Bellator veterans Aaron Jeffery (15-5), Dalton Rosta (9-1), and Mike Shipman (17-4), alongside Murad Ramazanov (12-2), who has already tested the waters in the PFL cage.

The last time PFL held a middleweight tournament was in 2018, with Louis Taylor emerging as the division’s lone champion. Since then, the weight class has been shelved, making its return in 2025 a significant moment for both fans and fighters.

The tournament will begin on April 18. It promises fireworks as the competitors battle for gold and glory.
