PFL Unveils Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Tournament Rosters Featuring Former UFC Contender

The PFL has officially revealed the rosters for its upcoming heavyweight and light heavyweight tournaments, setting the stage for an action-packed season where competitors will battle for a $500,000 grand prize. Among the notable names leading the charge is former UFC heavyweight Alexander Romanov, who recently transitioned to free agency after a victory at UFC Edmonton last November.

Romanov (18-3) headlines the heavyweight division, bringing his experience as a former UFC-ranked contender. He is joined by former Bellator interim champion Valentin Moldavsky (13-4, 1 NC), last season’s PFL finalist Oleg Popov (19-2), and seasoned veterans such as Linton Vassell (24-10, 1 NC) and Tim Johnson (18-11). The bracket also features recent PFL competitor Sergey Bilostenniy (13-3), alongside promising prospects Pouya Rahmani (4-0) and Abraham Bably (5-1), adding an intriguing mix of experience and rising talent.

On the light heavyweight side, former Bellator champion Phil Davis (24-7, 1 NC) makes his highly anticipated PFL debut. He will compete against past PFL tournament winners Antonio Carlos Junior (16-6, 2 NC) and Rob Wilkinson (19-3, 1 NC). The tournament also includes Karl Moore (12-3), Marcelo Nunes (11-2), Simeon Powell (10-1), Karl Albrektsson (14-6), and Sullivan Cauley (6-1), ensuring a stacked division filled with proven fighters and rising contenders.

For the light heavyweight tournament, Alex Polizzi (11-4) and Rafael Xavier (13-8) have been named alternates in case of any last-minute withdrawals. However, no alternates were announced for the heavyweight division.

The 2025 PFL season is set to kick off on April 3, with subsequent events scheduled for April 11, April 18, and May 1. All fights will take place at Universal Studios Florida, promising an exciting start to another season of high-stakes tournament action.
