PFL CEO Confirms Jake Paul's MMA Debut After Mike Tyson Fight
Jake Paul

Jake Paul’s highly anticipated move to MMA is still on track, according to PFL CEO Peter Murray. Despite no official fight date yet, Murray remains confident that ‘The Problem Child’ will step into the cage following his upcoming boxing bout against Mike Tyson.

Paul, who signed with the PFL in early 2023 alongside other major signings like former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, has been teasing his MMA debut ever since. While Ngannou is preparing to make his first PFL appearance soon, Jake Paul has been focused on his boxing career. His fight against Tyson is set for November, but Paul is already gearing up for MMA by training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under ADCC organizer Mo Jassim.

Fans have been skeptical of whether Jake Paul will actually make the transition from boxing to MMA, given the complexities of the sport. However, Peter Murray, in a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, assured fans that Paul is fully committed to fighting for the PFL next year.

Murray stated,

“Yeah, we’re lining it up. Obviously, Jake is finishing up boxing this year, with this massive fight against Mike Tyson. Then a lot of planning is going into Jake Paul’s [PFL] debut in 2025, and we’ll be sharing those details after Jake gets in the ring with Mike Tyson and we lay out our schedule for Super Fights next year.”

One thing is clear: the PFL has no intention of giving Paul an easy path in his MMA debut. According to Murray, Paul will face a legitimate, experienced MMA fighter, dismissing the possibility of a rematch with Tommy Fury, who has expressed interest in fighting the YouTuber in the cage.

Murray added,

“[There’s] plenty of options…and Jake is committed to fighting a very, very credible, well-rounded MMA fighter, and [it’s] not easy to do.”

With the PFL’s focus on delivering credible competition, Jake Paul’s MMA debut is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events in the sport. Fans will have to wait until 2025 to see how Paul fares in the cage, but it’s clear the PFL is preparing for a major crossover moment in MMA.
