Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix has voiced his frustration with inactivity under the promotion and is now seeking his release. Mix’s concerns echo those of Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Pitbull, who also recently asked to be released following a lengthy layoff.

Taking to Twitter, Mix shared his grievances with the situation.

“My manager told me to hold off but haven’t heard anything from PFL/Donn Davis,” he tweeted. “If you are not gonna have me fight then just please release me from contract. This is not what I want but if I’m not important to the company being a multi-time champ. Then let me go respectfully.”

Mix’s inactivity dates back to his last fight in May, after which he was initially scheduled to compete in November at the Bellator Paris card. However, that event was abruptly canceled, with PFL officials describing it as a "postponement." Fighters from the canceled card were promised new bookings, but many, including Mix, have yet to see their schedules solidified.

The inactivity woes extend beyond Mix and Pitbull. Bellator light heavyweight champion Corey Anderson has also publicly criticized the lack of opportunities since the PFL acquired Bellator in late 2023. Despite PFL's decision to keep Bellator as a separate entity with international events airing on Max, champions across divisions have grown increasingly frustrated.

Complications began with Bellator’s planned London event in September, which lost its headliner when middleweight champion Johnny Eblen’s fight against Fabian Edwards was moved to the PFL: Battle of the Giants card in Saudi Arabia. Then, the Paris event in November, where Mix was set to face Leandro Higo, was scrapped entirely.

Mix, Pitbull, and other fighters have expressed disappointment in the lack of clarity and consistent scheduling. PFL has yet to respond to these mounting concerns as frustrations within Bellator’s roster continue to grow.

The current turmoil highlights a critical moment for Bellator under PFL’s ownership, as its champions demand more transparency and respect—or their release.
