Paige VanZant Set for Third Power Slap Bout Against Mikael-Michelle Brown

Paige VanZant is stepping back into the Power Slap arena for her third matchup, as she prepares to take on Mikael-Michelle Brown at the upcoming March 7 event at Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.

The announcement came Wednesday, marking another chapter in VanZant’s unconventional combat sports career.

The 30-year-old former UFC fighter has experienced mixed results in Power Slap since making her debut in June 2024. She secured her first victory by defeating Christine Volmarans, but her second outing against Chelsea Dodson in October ended in a draw. VanZant has explored various combat sports since her UFC departure in 2020, competing in bare-knuckle boxing, traditional boxing, and Power Slap, though her win over Volmarans remains her only success in these disciplines.

VanZant’s opponent, Mikael-Michelle Brown, is relatively new to the combat sports scene but already holds a Power Slap victory.

Competing out of Nevada, Brown made her slap-fighting debut in December, where she defeated UFC veteran Emily Whitmire by decision. Her MMA background includes a lone amateur bout, in which she scored a first-round knockout of Vanessa Karnowski at a Tuff-N-Uff event in 2019.

Beyond her upcoming Power Slap contest, VanZant’s household has been in the spotlight this week. Her husband, Austin Vanderford, a former Bellator middleweight title challenger, is set to make his UFC debut this Saturday at UFC Seattle, facing Nikolay Veretennikov. With both fighters booked for action, it’s a busy and exciting time for the power couple.

As March 7 approaches, fans will be watching closely to see if VanZant can secure her second Power Slap win or if Brown can continue her momentum in the sport.
