The ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs. Knowles fight card continues to deliver thrilling matchups, and the latest announcement has fans eagerly anticipating an electrifying showdown. On Friday, April 4, Scottish striking sensation Nico Carrillo will embark on a new journey, making his featherweight Muay Thai debut against 4-ranked contender Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Carrillo, once a dominant force in ONE’s bantamweight division, left a lasting impression with his devastating knockout victories. Since his debut in April 2023, he has dismantled top-tier opponents such as Furkan Karabag, former bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama, and Muangthai PK Saenchai. His ascent seemed unstoppable when he crushed Saemapetch Fairtex last summer. However, his momentum came to a shocking halt this past January at ONE 170, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Nabil Anane, missing out on the coveted ONE Interim
Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship.
Determined to rewrite his narrative, Carrillo now sets his sights on featherweight glory. However, his entry into the division won’t be an easy one, as he faces an incredibly seasoned adversary in Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. Known as the Killer Kid, Sitthichai boasts an impressive résumé, including reigns as a Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion and a multi-time Glory Kickboxing king.
Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the last man to defeat the reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion, Tawanchai PK Saenchai. If Sitthichai manages to halt Carrillo’s featherweight ambitions, he could be in prime position for another title shot.
Carrillo, dubbed the King of the North, has built a reputation for sheer dominance, finishing every opponent he has faced inside Lumpinee Stadium.
