Million Dollar Mission: Hughes Aims for PFL Glory After Dublin

Irish mixed martial arts (MMA) sensation Paul Hughes is ready to take the world stage, but first, he has unfinished business to settle on home soil.

The former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, known for his devastating knockout power and loyal fanbase, will make his debut with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) at the Bellator Champions Series Dublin on June 22nd.

Hughes, a 27-year-old Belfast native, has been making waves in the European fight scene. After avenging his only career loss, he's racked up five consecutive victories since December 2020.

This impressive run garnered interest from major promotions like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), but Hughes believes he made the right call by signing with PFL.

"It's been a great run so far," Hughes said. "I feel like I'm both a young veteran and restarting at the same time. Signing with PFL/Bellator is a fresh start. My training camp is filled with new energy, and it's incredibly exciting."

Despite facing a familiar foe in Bellator veteran Bobby King (12-6), Hughes isn't taking his opponent lightly. King boasts experience and hails from the renowned Bang Muay Thai gym.

"We always have a game plan, but you can't overthink it," said King. "We'll go out there, fight smart, and adjust as needed."
