Mike Perry Targets Robbie Lawler for Explosive BKFC Showdown

Bare-knuckle sensation Mike Perry has set his sights on retired UFC champion Robbie Lawler as his next opponent in the BKFC ring. During the BKFC Hollywood event, Perry took the opportunity to issue a bold in-ring challenge to Lawler, who was in the crowd.

“I think who should face me next — I see Robbie Lawler in the crowd, and I think he should take the gloves off and step inside the squared circle against ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry,” said Perry, capturing the audience's attention.

Perry last fought in the BKFC ring at KnuckleMania 4 in April, delivering a thunderous 60-second knockout of Thiago Alves. Since then, the 33-year-old ventured into the boxing world, taking on Jake Paul in July. That bout, delayed due to Mike Tyson’s medical emergency, resulted in a sixth-round stoppage loss for Perry.

Despite the setback, Perry remains one of BKFC’s brightest stars and is eager to return to bare-knuckle action. Following his callout of Lawler, UFC legend and BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor fueled the excitement by endorsing the potential matchup on social media.

“What a show,” McGregor tweeted. “Perry vs. Lawler? Gimme.”

Robbie Lawler, who retired from the UFC in July 2023 after a stunning knockout victory over Niko Price at UFC 290, seems to be an ideal opponent for Perry. Known for his relentless fighting style, Lawler would bring undeniable excitement to the BKFC squared circle.

Perry expressed his frustration with the lack of willing challengers but doubled down on his belief that Lawler might be the perfect fit.

“Listen, man, I’m the best to ever be up in this ring [with] no gloves,” Perry declared. “The world tried to take things from me. I’m ready for my next opportunity, and it doesn’t seem like anybody [wants] to step up to the line. So I thought Robbie Lawler might just be tough enough to do it.”

With both fighters boasting fan-friendly styles and storied careers, a clash between Perry and Lawler could deliver fireworks for bare-knuckle boxing fans.
