Mike Perry’s Frustration with BKFC: “Where’s My Fight At?”

Mike Perry, one of the most electrifying fighters in bare-knuckle boxing, has found himself in a puzzling situation. Despite an undefeated BKFC record of 5-0, including three straight knockouts, "Platinum" hasn’t fought since his headline-grabbing exhibition with Conor McGregor, who now holds a major stake in BKFC. For Perry, this hiatus is both frustrating and baffling.

In a candid interview on the Overdogs Podcast, Perry expressed his confusion and annoyance over the lack of updates from the BKFC brass.

“It doesn’t seem to be panning out, that’s what’s happening,” Perry said. “I’m just like... fine, sure, like offer me somebody, tell me what’s going on. Tell me something! I guess Conor really did fire me. What the f*ck, where’s my fight at?’’

Who’s to Blame for Perry’s Inactivity?

Perry speculates that his inactivity isn’t due to his own actions or the launch of his new "Dirty Boxing" promotion. According to him, BKFC President David Feldman has shown no animosity toward Perry’s side project. Instead, Perry suggests the delay might be due to the reluctance of potential opponents. His reputation as a dangerous and unpredictable fighter could be scaring off contenders.

“[David] Feldman wished me luck, wished us luck, said ‘I hope it goes well,’” Perry explained. “They are very high level in bare knuckle, and I think they’re just trying to find the right thing that they can’t seem to quite make happen.”

Conor McGregor’s Role in the Drama

Perry’s comments about being “fired” by Conor McGregor may have been tongue-in-cheek, but they highlight the lingering influence of the Irish superstar over BKFC. While McGregor can’t officially terminate Perry, his growing involvement in the promotion could complicate Perry’s trajectory. Their exhibition clash last year, where McGregor jokingly “fired” Perry in the ring, remains one of the most talked-about moments in recent BKFC history.

What’s Next for “Platinum”?

The million-dollar question remains: who will step up to fight Mike Perry? BKFC is undoubtedly exploring potential matchups, but the stakes are high. Finding the right opponent for someone as volatile and skilled as Perry is no easy task. Fans are left to speculate if Perry will face a rising BKFC star or if he’ll take on a high-profile opponent from another combat sport.

Perry hinted that his next fight might not come until 2025. Could a showdown with the winner of an upcoming BKFC bout be in the cards? Or will “Platinum” look elsewhere to keep his momentum going?

One thing is certain: the longer Perry waits, the more the combat sports world talks about him. And for a fighter like Mike Perry, staying in the headlines might just be the silver lining to this frustrating chapter.
