Former UFC welterweight championship contender Jorge Masvidal has no desire to compete against KSI. 'Gamebred' retired in April after four straight defeats in the octagon. The former championship contender declared his retirement after falling to Gilbert Burns in Miami.
Jorge Masvidal has, however, frequently made fun of the possibility that he would fight again, but this time in a boxing ring.
Fortunately, there has been a prominent opening since KSI's bout with Tommy Fury appears to be in jeopardy. The YouTuber faced 'TNT' in May after defeating Joe Fournier by knockout, which was later overturned.
That was meant to be a teaser for a fight later this year, but both men have subsequently admitted that it probably won't happen because of contractual difficulties.
Jorge Masvidal won't be rushing to a KSI bout any time soon, though. In a recent episode of The MMA Hour, the former UFC contestant and Ariel Helwani talked about the potential match-up.
Although he made fun of his most recent bout with Joe Fournier, Jorge Masvidal continued by saying that there is no chance the YouTuber would agree to the fight.
“I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think that dude would ever take the fight,” Jorge Masvidal stated when asked about a fight with KSI. “Are you kidding me?
Hell no bro, are you kidding me?… That dude’s not trying to die on TV, he’s not. He’s fighting other dudes and he’s barely surviving, you think he’s going to get in there with me?”
