Jonathan Di Bella is eager for war as he prepares to face Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for the ONE interim strawweight kickboxing world title at ONE 172. The highly anticipated bout occurs at Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Sunday, March 23, marking a crucial moment for both fighters.
Di Bella, a Canadian-Italian kickboxing standout, is thrilled about competing in ONE Championship’s grand return to Japan. During a recent appearance on Story of the Fight, he reflected on the significance of the event and his excitement about sharing the stage with some of the sport’s biggest names.
“When I saw I was fighting on that card, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m playing on a big card.’ It’s going to be crazy. And I’m already thinking about what’s going to be there during the event week, fight week, and stuff.”
His opponent, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, is a decorated former ONE world champion known for his technical precision and striking prowess. With the interim title at stake, the winner will move on to face reigning two-sport champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the undisputed title later this year.
The clash between Di Bella and Sam-A is just one of five world title bouts set to electrify ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang. The event will showcase elite-level striking with top-tier matchups, ensuring a thrilling night of combat sports action.
