John Lineker's Quest for Redemption and a Boxing Challenge in ONE Championship

John Lineker, the electrifying Brazilian powerhouse known for his devastating striking, is no exception. As he prepares to make his return to the ONE Championship cage in Singapore this Friday, Lineker is fueled by a burning desire to regain the bantamweight title he once held.

Lineker's journey back to the top of the division will see him facing Stephen Loman, a formidable opponent with an impressive 11-fight winning streak. The clash between Lineker and Loman promises to be a thrilling encounter, with the winner earning a shot at the coveted championship belt.

"I believe the winner absolutely will fight for the title, but I'm focused on putting on a good fight now," Lineker remarked. "It gives me more motivation to go there and give my 100 percent knowing that there's a chance I'm fighting for the title."

Lineker's path to this moment hasn't been without its challenges. His recent victory over Jae Woong Kim in August, achieved through a wild third-round knockout, served as a powerful rebound from a prior defeat to Fabricio Andrade. Lineker's resilience and determination are qualities that have defined his career, making him a fan favorite and a force to be reckoned with in the ONE Championship roster.

Speaking of Andrade, Lineker's most recent nemesis, he is set to face Muay Thai champion Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE kickboxing belt later this year. This development has sparked Lineker's interest in exploring new horizons within the ONE Championship ecosystem.

"Since ONE gives us the opportunity [to compete in other sports], there's no reason why I wouldn't take advantage of that," Lineker enthusiastically stated. "I hope to be fighting in another sport in the future. If there's a chance to fight in boxing, I would love that."

While Lineker's ambitions extend beyond the MMA cage, his immediate focus remains on his upcoming showdown with Loman. He acknowledges the challenges presented by his opponent, emphasizing the need for patience and vigilance in dealing with Loman's movement and takedown attempts.

"He's very versatile and tough," Lineker noted. "He moves a lot on the feet and has great footwork and takedowns. I'll go there and search for the knockout at all times, like I always do. That's the type of fight I love, to give fans a show."

Regardless of the outcome, Lineker's unwavering determination and thirst for victory are sure to provide fans with unforgettable moments inside the cage and, perhaps, even beyond it.
