Jan Blachowicz wants Glover Teixeira to come out of retirement for a bout

After losing to Jamahal Hill in the championship match for the light heavyweight division's main event at UFC 283, Teixeira made his retirement announcement.

These two competed for the championship after Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev's fight ended in a draw. Ji Procházka left this belt vacant by resigning as champion in order to take his time and heal from a severe shoulder injury.

Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz have fought before; Glover won the fight by way of second-round submission, giving him the belt. In truth, the two were planning a rematch when Procházka was hurt, and the UFC changed course when the Brazilian requested additional time.

In light of this, it makes understandable that Blachowicz would have some concerns about Teixeira declaring his retirement in the octagon during the UFC 283 main event. The Polish fighter paid tribute to the legendary Brazilian boxer on Twitter by humorously reminding Teixeira of the rematch he is still owed and issuing a challenge to wrestle.

“Glover Teixeira announced his retirement. One of the greatest in MMA industry. The Legend. It was a true honor to crossed the gloves with you in the @ufc Octagon,” Blachowicz wrote. “P.S. Bro, but you must remember that you still own me a rematch! 😉 So see you on the mat @gloverteixeira! Oss!”
