Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is set to return to the octagon for the first time since July 2023. Blachowicz will face rising contender Carlos Ulberg at UFC London on March 22 at the O2 Arena, a matchup officially confirmed on Tuesday.

Blachowicz (29-10-1) last competed at UFC 291, where he took on former middleweight champion Alex Pereira. Despite putting up a strong fight, Blachowicz came up short, losing via split decision in a closely contested battle. That result added to a challenging stretch for the veteran, who has gone 1-2-1 in his last four outings. Determined to reestablish his dominance, Blachowicz faces a formidable test in Ulberg.

Carlos Ulberg (11-1), a New Zealand native and teammate of Israel Adesanya, has been making waves in the light heavyweight division. After stumbling in his UFC debut in 2021, Ulberg has been unstoppable, racking up seven consecutive victories. His most recent win, a hard-fought decision over seasoned veteran Volkan Oezdemir in November, solidified his status as a top contender. Ulberg’s dynamic striking and relentless pace present a unique challenge for the experienced Blachowicz.

While Blachowicz aims to prove he remains a force to be reckoned with at 205 pounds, Ulberg looks to continue his meteoric rise toward a potential title shot. The stakes are high, as both fighters have much to gain from a win on one of the most anticipated UFC Europe cards of the year.

Currently, UFC Europe has not announced a headlining bout for the March event. However, Blachowicz vs. Ulberg is already shaping up to be a highlight of the night, offering a compelling clash of veteran experience and surging talent.

Blachowicz fans hope to see their fighter bounce back with a vintage performance, while Ulberg supporters are eager to witness another chapter in the Kiwi’s rapid ascent. With both competitors bringing striking-heavy styles and an appetite for victory, the London crowd is in for an electrifying showdown.
