As UFC 300 approaches, fight fans are eagerly anticipating the main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, where current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira (9-2 MMA) will defend his title against Jamahal Hill (12-1 MMA).
Hill, 32, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, is on a four-fight winning streak and is determined to reclaim the belt. Despite his impressive record and recent victories, Hill is entering the fight as the underdog according to 'BETMGM'.
On 'The JRE MMA Show' podcast, Joe Rogan expressed his admiration for Hill's skills and why he considers him to be a formidable opponent:
"Jamahal Hill is dangerous. Watch the fight with Glover. He pieced Glover up, and Glover is good to piece him up like that on the feet. People underestimate (Hill) for some strange reason, and I don't understand it. I've heard people talk about his power. Watch that Johnny Walker fight."
Rogan referred to Hill's previous fights, including his victory over Glover Teixeira (33-9 MMA) in January 2023 at UFC 283, where Hill won by unanimous decision. He also mentioned Hill's knockout of Johnny Walker (21-8 MMA) in February 2022.
"He hit him in the forehead like he got hit by a sniper. He's good. He's dangerous. Jamahal's a one-punch knockout striker at light heavyweight for sure. He's a big, tall dude and he knows movement. He's dangerous, man."
Rogan expressed surprise at the number of people favoring Pereira to win convincingly, stating, "I'm not sure about that. I think this is going to be a great fight."
