Jake Peacock Predicts Explosive Showdown Against Shinji Suzuki at ONE 171: Qatar

Bantamweight Muay Thai sensation Jake Peacock is gearing up for another electrifying performance as he steps back into the ONE Championship spotlight at ONE 171: Qatar. The Canadian-British striker will take on Japan’s rising star, Shinji Suzuki, in a highly anticipated bantamweight Muay Thai clash on Thursday, February 20, at Lusail Sports Arena in Doha, Qatar.

Peacock made a spectacular ONE Championship debut at ONE Friday Fights 58 last April, showcasing his elite striking in a dominant three-round victory over Kohei Shinjo. Now, with the opportunity to perform on a grander stage, Peacock is eager to deliver another statement win.

With his return fast approaching, Peacock has made it clear that he intends to leave a lasting impression on fans in Qatar and around the world.

“Expect a firefight again. I’ll be bringing the cowboy hat and I’m gonna be gunslinging, baby. I’m gonna put on a great performance for the fans and those watching around the world,” Peacock said.

He also made a bold prediction for the fight, confident that Suzuki wouldn’t make it to the final bell.

“I’m gonna put this guy out within two rounds. This will not enter the third round, mark my words on that.”

Despite his supreme confidence, Peacock is not underestimating his Japanese opponent. He recognizes Suzuki’s experience and ability to hold his own against elite competition.

“I’m not underestimating Shinji at all. I completely respect any man who stands across from me. Everyone’s dangerous, especially in 4-ounce gloves on the world’s stage,” Peacock stated.

Suzuki has shared the ring with some of Muay Thai’s elite, including Han Zi Hao, whom he even managed to knock down. However, Peacock believes his speed, power, and dynamic striking will be the difference-maker in this matchup.

“He’s been in there with guys like Han Zi Hao and dropped him, too. He’s dangerous. But I’m more dangerous and more dynamic, and I was born for this. I accepted this fight before I even heard his name.”

With ONE 171: Qatar set to deliver fireworks, Jake Peacock is determined to prove he belongs among ONE Championship’s elite by securing another thrilling victory.
