Jake Paul does not doubt that Mike Tyson will be ready when they square off on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Despite the concerns surrounding Tyson's health, Paul isn’t planning for a backup fighter. Their highly anticipated boxing match, originally scheduled for July, was postponed after the 58-year-old Tyson had an ulcer flareup. Paul, in the meantime, fought and defeated Mike Perry by TKO in the sixth round. Now, all eyes are back on the showdown with the boxing legend.
Even though it’s been almost two decades since Tyson (50-6-2) last fought in a professional fight, Paul (10-1) remains unfazed by the risk of another postponement.
“I don’t have concerns,” Paul assured TMZ when asked about Tyson’s health. “He’s doing great. He’s super healthy behind the scenes and feeling great. That’s what we’re focused on, and there’s not a backup currently.”
The fight has generated a fair share of controversy, especially with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations officially sanctioning the bout. Given Tyson’s age and health history, some have questioned whether the fight should occur. However, Paul is prepared to go all out once the bell rings.
“A pro-fight means war, and I don’t take it lightly,” Paul said firmly. “You can get seriously hurt or injured in there. So, if you’re not in there to go to war, then you should just get out.”
While some critics remain concerned, Paul seems laser-focused on delivering a show for the fans without worrying about what could go wrong. He’s confident that Tyson will be ready, and for Paul, it’s all about stepping into the ring to make history.
