Invicta FC 47 was the third promotional event of the year and the biggest and most exciting event ever. Which aired on May 11, 2022 at Memorial Hall, Kansas City, Kansas. In which Emily Ducote defended her Invicta FC Straight Crown in the main event of Invicta FC 47.
Emily Ducote vs. Elisha Zappitella Straightweight title bout will be the title of this event. Ducote recently had the biggest knockout in Invicta's history, while Zappitella also won a back-to-back fight. Zappitella is a former atomic weight champion from Michigan. Instead of hovering around 105lbs for a trilogy fight with champion Jessica Delboni, she chose to go up in the weight class and go straight for the title. Zappitella's dream is to fight for the UFC
However, for the two fighters who have had considerable success in the world's most prestigious all-female promotion, the biggest test available for Emily Ducote and Elisha Zappitella is to fight each other.
The fight between the second and third rounds ended when the Ringside therapist ended the festival with a dirty cut. Although the ending was hostile, it is difficult to claim that Ducote did not deserve victory.
She did not appear to be in any trouble during the two rounds she had fought, and the cut was due to her patience and accuracy. The cut was made in the second round when Ducote grabbed Zappitella with a punch and burned her.
After the second round we got a good look at Zappitella's kit, which was perfect on the eyelids. The ring side physician took a closer look at the injury and decided that it was not safe for Zappitella to continue. Zappitella seemed incredibly disappointed with the decision. However, before checking out, it seemed like it was hard to see, so the right decision was made here.
With this victory, Ducot's record became 11-6. Zappitella's record fell to 9-4 after losing her Atomweight title to Jessica Delboni in January.
Featherweight co-hosts came out swinging in the main event. Courtney King and Chelsea Chandler both fired big shots in the fight, which resulted in King getting a nasty cut on his eye soon after. As the fighting continued, the energy dwindled, resulting in a war on the ground and against the fence. After all, it was Chandler who was rewarded for his long-held ground control. This is 4-1 on Cesar Gracie's student career.
