Fighters Make Weight Ahead of PFL 9 Semifinals Showdown in Washington, D.C.

The stage is set for an explosive night of fights at PFL 9, as all 20 fighters successfully made weight at the official weigh-ins on Thursday morning. The event, which takes place at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., will feature semifinal matchups in the featherweight and welterweight divisions. Fighters will battle for a chance to move on to the championship event, where a $1 million prize awaits the victors.


In the main event, former PFL featherweight season champion Brendan Loughnane is ready to face off against UFC veteran Kai Kamaka III. Both fighters successfully hit their weight marks, with Loughnane coming in at 146 pounds and Kamaka slightly under at 145.6 pounds. This clash promises to be a thrilling matchup, with both athletes eager to secure a spot in the finals.


The co-main event will see welterweight semifinalists Magomed Umalatov and Neiman Gracie go head-to-head. Both fighters made weight comfortably, with Umalatov tipping the scales at 170.6 pounds and Gracie at 170 pounds. This bout is expected to showcase a mix of striking and grappling, as Umalatov brings his power against Gracie’s renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills.


The fight card continues to heat up with more semifinal action. Featherweights Gabriel Braga and Timur Khizriev will square off, both hitting the featherweight limit, with Braga at 146 pounds and Khizriev at 145.8 pounds. In the welterweight division, Shamil Musaev and Murad Ramazanov are set for a showdown, weighing in at 170.2 pounds and 171 pounds, respectively.


The preliminary card also features exciting matchups, including Ray Cooper III versus Mukhamed Berkhamov and Eric Alequin against Luca Poclit. Featherweights Tyler Diamond and Enrique Barzola are ready for action, both weighing in under the 146-pound limit. Jesse Stirn will take on Jose Perez, with both fighters making weight, and heavyweight action will see Maxwell Djantou Nana versus Kent Mafileo. Rounding out the card, Shido Boris Esperanca and Tyler Hill will compete at welterweight, both coming in at just over 170 pounds.


With all fighters making weight and ready to go, PFL 9 promises to deliver a night of intense competition as these athletes vie for a spot in the finals and a shot at becoming a PFL champion.
