Felipe Lobo is making a strong case for his return to ONE Championship’s bantamweight Muay Thai rankings. The Brazilian standout secured a spectacular third-round knockout victory over Saemapetch Fairtex in their highly anticipated rematch at ONE Fight Night 28, held on February 7 at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
Lobo’s dominant performance signaled an impressive start to 2025, but he isn’t done settling past scores just yet. Following his recent success, the 31-year-old is set on avenging a previous defeat to ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane.
Lobo and Anane first clashed at ONE Fight Night 24 last August, where the Thai-Algerian fighter earned a unanimous decision victory. However, Lobo believes the circumstances leading up to the fight played a significant role in the outcome.
“I had the fight with Nabile [Anane] last time and didn’t have a long time for preparation. I was supposed to fight Suablack [Tor Pran49] and Ferrari [Fairtex], which then changed to Nabil, so the plan changed. So I hope to get my rematch with Nabil at the right time,” Lobo explained.
Determined to climb to the top of the division, Lobo remains confident in his abilities and ambitions.
As one of the most skilled strikers in the sport, Lobo is no stranger to challenges from hungry contenders. One such fighter is Russia’s Abdulla Dayakaev, who recently secured a lucrative $100,000 contract at ONE Friday Fights 96 and wasted no time in calling out the Brazilian star.
Despite the rising competition, Lobo remains composed and focused on his goals.
“There are a lot of people coming to ONE Championship calling me out, calling everybody out,” he said. “They want my position, so I’ll just wait on everyone.”
With momentum on his side and unfinished business in the division, Lobo’s journey in 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting one.
