Rising Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sensation Fabricio Andrey is ready to introduce his electrifying brand of grappling to the global stage when he makes his debut at ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs. Knowles on Friday, April 4, inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Known as “Hokage,” Andrey will square off against Ashley Williams, a seasoned Welsh grappler, in a featherweight submission grappling showdown that promises to light up the mats. While Williams brings experience and a more traditional grappling base, Andrey is betting that his flair for the unpredictable will make all the difference.
“For the fans who have never seen me compete before, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Fabricio Andrey, better known as ‘Hokage.’ And my style of grappling is like this, it’s the ‘Crazy Dog Show,’” he said.
Andrey’s high-octane style, filled with flying submissions, dynamic takedowns, and creative guard passes, has earned him a reputation as one of the sport’s most thrilling competitors. From outwrestling elite grapplers to dominating guard specialists and judokas alike, his confidence heading into this clash is sky-high.
The Brazilian has no intention of hiding his game plan. He believes Williams will rely heavily on wrestling early, but that strategy will play right into his hands.
“He’s going to try to take me down in the first 20 seconds. He’s going to take two heavy slaps on the neck, then he’s going to jump into closed guard or some other guard that allows him to wrap around my legs,” Andrey explained.
“I’m going to get out, pass his guard, take his back, and submit him.”
If all goes according to Andrey’s plan, fans tuning into ONE Fight Night 30 will witness a grappling display that’s both technical and wildly entertaining—a true showcase of the “Crazy Dog Show.”
