Doctors Said NO, But Roy Jones Jr Wants to fight Jake Paul!

Boxing fans may be in for a treat as Roy Jones Jr. throws his hat in the ring to face Jake Paul, potentially replacing the injured Mike Tyson.

Tyson's much-anticipated clash with Paul, originally scheduled for July 20th, was postponed due to health concerns for the 57-year-old former champion. Rumors swirled after Tyson reportedly suffered a medical episode on a flight.

Enter Jones Jr., 55 himself, who has a history with Tyson, having fought him in an exhibition bout back in 2020. Jones, once considered one of the sport's greatest, is looking to recapture some glory against the YouTube star Paul.

While his career has seen some tarnishing defeats in recent years, Jones remains confident. He's already begun training in case Tyson remains unfit to fight when a new date is scheduled.

"This is a great idea," Jones told Betway. "I'll be ready. If the fight doesn't happen with Tyson, I'm the ideal guy to step in."

Despite not having a professional win since 2018, Jones believes he has the strategy to outsmart Paul. He also revealed he's had other comeback offers, but Paul is his current focus.

"I haven't planned how to fight Paul exactly," Jones said. "I figure things out in the ring. But this Jake Paul fight? It would be one of the biggest of the decade."

Will Jones Jr. replace the legendary Mike Tyson? Only time, and perhaps, his training regimen, will tell.
