A high-profile boxing event featuring former UFC light heavyweight champions Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans has added another intriguing matchup between ex-UFC fighters. Diego Sanchez, the inaugural winner of The Ultimate Fighter, is set to face John Makdessi in a boxing bout at ICS Mania 1 on April 12. The event will take place at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The timing of the event is notable, as it coincides with UFC 314, one of the promotion’s most highly anticipated cards in recent memory. Despite the scheduling conflict, ICS Mania 1 has drawn attention to its lineup of well-known former UFC competitors.
For Sanchez, this marks an opportunity to secure his first combat sports victory in over five years.
