Devin Haney vs Regis Prograis Preview

Devin Haney and Regis Prograis will go head-to-head in a highly anticipated super lightweight bout in an electrifying clash set to take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, on Saturday December 9.

Prograis, the current WBC title holder with a record of 29-1 and 24 KOs, is set to defend his title for the second time after a successful bout against Danielito Zorrilla last April. The 'Rougarou' secured his two-time belt holder status by delivering a knockout victory over Jose Zepeda in the eleventh round in Carson, California.

Haney, entering the ring with an impressive record of 30-0 and 15 KOs, aims to add another feather to his cap by becoming a two-weight world champion. The 25-year-old secured his first global glory at 135lbs, claiming the undisputed championship by defeating George Kambosos Jr in Australia in June 2022. Haney has since defended his crown twice, including a rematch in Australia in October and a memorable victory against Vasiliy Lomachenko in Las Vegas in May.

Expressing his excitement for the upcoming bout, Haney stated, "It's been a dream for me to fight in my hometown. I'm excited for the opportunity to become a two-division world champion in The City where it all started."

As anticipation builds for the clash, boxer Ryan Garcia offers his prediction, favoring Haney to emerge victorious and take the belt from Prograis. While Garcia envisions a judges' decision rather than a knockout, bookmakers also lean toward the Californian, giving him a 72.76 percent chance of victory over Prograis.

Saturday night promises an intense battle between two formidable fighters, and boxing fans can expect nothing short of a thrilling showcase of skill, strategy, and determination at the Chase Center.
