Darren Till is ready to take center stage in the influencer boxing world. The former UFC contender is slated to face Anthony Taylor in an eight-round heavyweight showdown at Misfits X Series 20, scheduled for January 18 at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena. This headlining bout promises fireworks, marking Till’s official debut with Misfits Boxing.
Misfits confirmed the matchup on Sunday, revealing that the co-main event will feature Wade Plemons squaring off against Masai Warrior in a four-round heavyweight clash. This lineup sets the stage for a night filled with high-octane action.
Till was originally set to face Tommy Fury, but the fight fell apart earlier this month. Fury pulled out, citing concerns over possible “stupid MMA tactics” from Till, claiming that the Liverpool native might resort to techniques outside the boxing rulebook. Till didn’t hold back in his response, mocking Fury’s remarks and calling the accusations a thinly veiled attempt to hype the fight.
With Fury stepping away, Anthony Taylor has stepped up. Known for his brash persona and competitive spirit, Taylor brings both influencer boxing experience and an MMA background, including 11 professional bouts with stints in Bellator.
This won’t be Till’s first dance in the squared circle. He recently showcased his striking prowess by defeating Mohammad Mutie via TKO in an exhibition boxing match this past July under the Social Knockout banner. That victory added to the anticipation surrounding his Misfits debut.
Taylor, too, is no stranger to combat sports. His dual experience in boxing and MMA could prove crucial in neutralizing any surprises Till might bring.
As the event approaches, fans are eager to see how Till transitions into the influencer boxing realm and whether Taylor can hold his own against a former UFC star. With stakes this high and personalities this bold, the Manchester crowd is in for a night to remember.
