Daniel Dubois Dominates Anthony Joshua with Fifth-Round Knockout to Retain Heavyweight Title
Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua

Daniel Dubois showcased his dominance and power by knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round to retain his IBF heavyweight championship. Dubois' emphatic win at Wembley Stadium on Saturday left no doubt about his status as a true heavyweight champion, delivering a one-sided demolition of the former champion Joshua.

From the opening bell, Dubois made his intentions clear by throwing powerful punches that immediately put Joshua on the defensive. At the end of the first round, Dubois dropped Joshua with a thunderous overhand right, signaling what would be a long night for the former champion. Although Joshua managed to beat the count, it became evident that he struggled to keep up with Dubois' relentless pressure.

In the second round, Dubois continued his onslaught, forcing Joshua into survival mode. Ignoring Joshua's attempts to create space with his jabs, Dubois pressed forward, looking for the knockout. Near the end of the third round, Dubois almost finished the fight again, dropping Joshua just before the bell. However, Joshua managed to hang on for a few more rounds, despite being visibly worn down.

As Dubois continued to bear down on his opponent, Joshua attempted to show resilience by smiling and sticking out his tongue in response to the onslaught, but it was clear he had no answer for Dubois' power. The inevitable conclusion came just 59 seconds into the fifth round when Dubois landed a devastating counter right hand, sending Joshua to the canvas. Joshua, on his hands and knees, failed to beat referee Marcus McDonnell’s count, sealing Dubois’ victory.

Following the fight, Dubois, full of confidence, addressed the sold-out crowd, asking, “Are you not entertained?” The win solidified Dubois' claim to the IBF heavyweight title, elevated to undisputed status after Oleksandr Usyk vacated his share of the belt. Dubois now stands tall as the undisputed IBF heavyweight champion, while Usyk is scheduled for a high-profile rematch with Tyson Fury later this year.
