Finally one of the last episodes of Dana White's Contender Series is going to be tonight at UFC Apex, Contender Series is an excellent MMA format where we get to see some good and some bad fighters, but it's long gone. Instead, let's take a look at the last card of the year and see who's going to audition for a place in the big MMA league.
Dana White's Contestant Series Season 5, Week 10
Lightweight: Maheshit vs. Achilles Eastmeadora
Welterweight: Johann Laines vs. Justin Berlinson
Flyweight: Lun Qiu vs. Erisson Ferreira da Silva
Featherweight: Canaan Cavaiye vs. Jonas Bilharinho
Flyweight: Zefa Shang vs. Juan Porta
Let's talk first. Johan Lyons vs. Justin Berlinson
Justin Berlinson, a 24-year-old undefeated fighter from Sunderland, will have the opportunity to change his life forever when he first steps into Octagon. An English welterweight with a wide amateur career that saw him achieve a lot. Undefeated as a professional, he has yet to see a judge's verdict, eliminating opponents with punches and submissions. He is controlled and smooth, making many of these things easy because he sets everything behind a fast job.
On the other hand, his opponent is another developed possibility, Canada's Johan Lenny (7-0). Fighting Canada's TKO and Mid-Atlantic's CFFC, it really has no games. While Berlin's submission efforts are unlikely to be thwarted, it does have its share of weapons, such as threats to remove it and stabbing from an angle. Or things like that. Berlinson can overtake Lennie in takeoff efforts, and they are both good at gaining and maintaining superior control. This is undoubtedly the most consistent match of the card, and both will be a great addition to the UFC's welterweight division.
The 30-year-old former ballet star, Colum Eleanor, has backed the young man to bring the victory back to Versace.
Speaking to ChronicleLive this morning, Ellenor said: "I think it would be a bad night for Justin not to win," adding: "The man he's facing. He's tough, but he's not good at everything. "
Now, who is good and who is bad, whose life is about to change will be decided tonight. By the way, you would like to see whose hand is raised. Thank you for your feedback
